Statistics show that using speech to dictate a message can be up to 3 times faster than typing it out. An addition 30 languages and locations have been added to the service which allows users to talk into their phone instead of typing on the onscreen keyboard. With this new update, Google’s speech recognition tools can now support 119 languages. These are available for use with Gboard on Android, Voice Search, and other voice recognition tools. As a bonus, U.S. English users can even use emojis in voice dictation!

The latest update also adds Swahili, Amharic and several Indian languages. Speech samples were collected, and speakers were asked to read out common words and phrases.
